Colour Run 2014.

Dear Journal

We I mean My DD and GDD did the Colour Run last year for the first time..it's a Charity Event that runs Australia Wide for Cancer Research...
It's back on Tomorrow Sunday and looking  to be a little better than last year, it was Very Wet the whole week leadimg up too the Day, which made it a bit Slippery and the Venue wasn't as flat as one would have liked...but we managed!!
Yesterday we had to go down too Robina on the Gold Coast too pick up our T-Shirt & Number Packs...

The venue has been changed too a Football Oval which will be much flatter to walk round...it's a 5Klm walk, at each 1Klm they throw Coloured Chalk onto all who pass the line...hence the rainbow colour's on the T-Shirts...we're heading off early as I need too be back for Our Sunday Stitchers Last Meet and Xmas Breakup for 2014...1-8pm and with Secret Santa and lots of Show & Tell from Our Challenges throughout the year...
We headed back into Robina Town Centre for Refreshments and a Look Around...
We didn't stay as long as first thought forgot about the Xmas Crowds...but I did manage to buy a New Decoration for my Tree...it's a bit of a Ritual I do each year...
And of course it is a Bird!!

It's was our Daughter in Law's 32nd Birthday Yesterday 28th..I sent her a message on Instagram with this photo from an earlier Dinner date at Jamie's Italian in London...I Love this Photo of Sam.

Dillybags.

Dear Journal

I first saw the Now Famous "Dillybag" on Instagram made by Judy Newman in Victoria...large Hexagons were very encouraging after tackling small 1.5inch ones for a quilt...
I'm not really a Bag Lady as such but I was attracted too this one after seeing them popping up on IG...
well I decided to make myself one using lots of fabrics from my box for my Fly away with Me quilt...lots of fabrics that have always taken my fancy but really wasnt game enough to use...ha ha until now I have been very inspired by recent addictions on Instagram and I'm off, as they say!!
I've now made 4, 3  for xmas gifts ..and another one planned for March next year as another Gift...
when will they stop...who Knows..LOL..

I won't show the 4th one as it is to be gifted and I don't want to show just yet...to be continued.
                                                                Till Next Time

Another Begining.

Dear Journal

I like to keep a Blog / Journal for a Keepsake for My Granddaughter Ella, I'm sure she will remember the things we did as a Toddler and now going into Kindy / Prep they call it here in Qld...2014.
This Blog will be about all the different things I like to do apart from my Patchwork...
I like to take Photo's mainly for Instagram which I love....there's a great support in IG especially the sewing community that I follow and lucky for me some also follow me...
we have had our first overseas trip last Xmas and have our Tickets for July 2015, that would be the Mr. and I....Our Son and his Wife will be living in Scotland then after living in London for about 18months...
I also love TV, a good Aussie drama and have been liking some English shows as well...
Our Garden is low maintanence in the front I have made 2 more in the back with all the flowers I love...
I belong to a Stitching Group that meets monthly, 18 of us, we get along quite well and I think they have enjoyed the challenges I've set them through this year, next year will be full of Learning and Inspiration with 3 Workshops planned...
I've been very inspired by Margaret Sampson George from Leura in the Blue Mountains, NSW.
I did a 2 day workshop with her at the Quilters Store back in July WOW!! that changed the way I look at fabric and I'm still Procrasinating, it drives me Nuts!!
I'm working on The Elemets "fly away with me" Quilt by @msg ...

This is the quilt showing one border by Marg...I can tell you I have unpicked many times while working on this quilt, but it won't beat me, lol..
Here is Marg and Myself after the workshop last July..I had sort of met Marg on Instagram through other ladies that I had known for sometime, it was Great too meet her, and now she follow's me on IG which is great when I need her advice and I can see her Finger Pointing at me through the Phone, lol.
She's a hard task master b
ut I'm so Grateful to have had the chance to follow her and to replicate one of her Beautiful Designs...Here is part of the block I'm working on now, I'll show some more in another post.

The Birdcage Block.
Till Next Time
