Counting the Sleeps!!

Dear Journal
Yes the little One is counting the Sleeps till we start Prep, I say We as we are all Involved with School Drop off and Pickup...
we toddled off to the Open day on Monday Met the New Principal Mrs Gosling and was Wowed by the New Classroom for Prep, we met 2 of the New Prep Teachers both Ladies... Today we are wearing in the New School Shoes and the Count Down is On....Miss.E. is Very Excited and the thought of meeting and getting too play with Little People Again is her first Priority..lol
The New Routine of Sewing after lunch is working so far but once I'm on School Hours next week my sewing will need too start earlier in the day well at least I will get some prep done for my projects I did manage to finish this Dillybag No: 5 another to be Gifted...
I used my stash with the left over fabrics 1930's from my Gossip in the Garden Quilt I tried to keep it Retro with adding the Red & Green on the top...

I've gotten this far with re-starting my Fly away with Me Quilt I've unpicked all 4 blocks and I'm using the same pallet of fabrics as in my Stonefields they are much more Calmer than what I had used and I can live with these much more easily...I've joined the 4 squares together to make the centre piece much bigger and I'm incorporating some of Going Green of the Hexies into the borders...I got the OK from MSG she is so generous and easy going with her patterns I'm so pleased we have her coming here in October for 2 days she is so Inspiring....

My Gorgeous Friend Peg has sent me another Diary and Cover she knows I love Pink....this will be this years Roster Keeper where I write down all my shifts just incase there is a Pay discrepancy!!

I've been shopping with Sandy of Shiralee Stitches more Beautiful Daphne Fabrics and I joined up for Sandy's Lucy Boston BOM...these will be put away till I finish a couple of ongoing projects.

Shopping on Instagram has never been so easy one of the ladies Alison from Victoria has The Cotton Factory  Alison puts up Great Bargains...also the last Instalment from Susan Smith for my Stonefields Month 10 ...I'm upto Month 4...this Quilt has 200 x  6.5inch Applique and Pieced Blocks that's just for the Centre...it's one of those projects that take FOREVER!!!

Yesterday I had the chance to sit at the Machine and get these 4 Patches together for a Easter Swap
I'm using up a Jelly Roll that I made a Bag from this Jelly Roll is really going a long way...

Lots of Preparation...

Dear Journal
It seems that this is all I can show for the last week...fabric cut for Stars for some Secret Sewing...
I have unpicked all 6 blocks from Fly away with Me that I've decided to re-do in more softer fabrics even though I like the brighter more modern fabrics and they look Great when others make blocks and quilts with and I thought I could work with them and I did until I started to put the blocks together Holy Moly it looked like someone had chucked Honestly so out of my comfort zone totally not happy Jan!!!
I look at my Stonefields blocks on my design wall and they are so calming so that's what I've decided to do...I'm not following the pattern ah yes something I do more often these days like who wants to do exactly the same as the designer I mean I am with Stonefields but that quilt you have too then when it comes to the Zillion Flying Geese eeekkk maybe I'll change that part...I've never been a fan of FG especially when they have to be joined in a row..a bad experience comes too mind it wasn't a straight top when finished lets just say that..lol
I've done the right thing and have ran it by MSG what my plans are and she says Go For It!!! ah music to my ears...I'm thinking of mixing Fly away and Going Green into one now for this it will be freeform which I love it lets you do Whatever!! so watch this space...
I've also prepared no: 5 Dillybag to be put together this is the one using 1930's fabrics and this one is to be Gifted in March...so with working etc I haven't been Idle...

Well last week was our first week of Nanna Duties with miss Ella the first 2 days I walked round in circles while listening to the Boomerang channel in the background...there are days where the Miss just wants to Veg Out!! fine by me totally out of routine and with the Mr. coming home at 2:30pm now is really throwing me out...by the 3rd day well lets just say I slept on what I hadn't achieved and a routine was to be put into place...frustration was setting in...well with much success I was sitting down after lunch and doing this...

by the end of the night they were completed...

my first 4 blocks for month 4...
I ordered some lovely fabrics from Sandi at Shiralee Stitches

Pretty Pinks in Daphne...More coming of these.

Daphne by Karen Styles Somerset Patchwork.
I have also subscribed to her Newsletter well with one coming through today it became dangerous as I didn't realize Sandi was making up Lucy Boston Kits....and with free shipping lucky for me she has just released Block 3...Yep there ordered... have had LB on the too do list and wasn't planning on doing any this year and probably won't but I can have it all ready to go when I've caught up with my UFO's..
Actually they might come in handy to take on our Trip!! ha Genius I Am..I Knew I ordered them for a reason..lol
heading into week 2 of Nanna Duties lets see how much stitching I get done this week!!
                                                                   Till next time

I've come Full Circle.

Dear Journal
That's what it feels like, yep I've come full circle under the title of Motherhood!...Now a Nanna as you know I've offered my services once again to the family...as of this coming week my roster for work is changing, I'm so lucky I can do this too suit everyone's Needs... little Ella is officially on Holidays, she has finished with Pre-school and is now home to get ready for Kindy or Prep as they call it here in Qld but it's still the same...
Us Girl's will be home together 3 days during the week until the day after Australia Day when Moi will be on School Drop off and Pick Up...see I've come full circle, and it feels a little strange at my age and must admit didn't think this would happen but as life takes on different challenges we must Soldier On!!...Ella's going to a Brand New School with no before or after school care in place so hence the change...we're hoping it's not for too long then Moi can get back to her Routine one that she likes very much...so between now and then we're going to Chill Out as they say and I'm sure if I play my cards right a little stitching will slot in quite nicely...
Now it seems weeks since Xmas and the Ornies are all wrapped and put away but the tree is still standing Naked...I had thought The Mr. might have sorted that out for me But that hasn't Happened!!

Now on the stitching front it's been pretty lazy on my part and hexagon's is all I had seemed to feel like doing, I did manage to prepare my next month for my Stonefields Quilt but not yet ready or some serious head down Needleturn just yet but I need to get my Butt into gear as this is a Big Quilt...the hexie's are for the Borders yes all 124 of them as flowers...ha! I've only done 20!!...

I was lucky to be sent 3 from a lovely lady on Instagram Lisa from the Central Coast lucky for her she has finished the whole quilt...
here is Month 4 all Prepared...

I've taken these photo's from my Instagram page they are a little blurry but you get the picture...
My Trip around the world flimsy will be coming out each month at our Groups meet as some of the Girl's are going to be making the same as our year long project this year...we meet back on the 18th a month earlier than we would normally resume but we do have our Workshop next month...
it's going to be a busy year for me this year it's pretty booked out with now adding a 2nd trip overseas for next Xmas to see our Eldest Child and his Bride who will be settled in Scotland ....but in saying that I do love to organized a Do! so fingers crossed it all goes too plan...

                                                             HAPPY NEW YEAR.

                                                                   Till Next Time
